Patna. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Saturday that Bihar has become self-sufficient in fish production. Earlier fish from other states were brought to Bihar and now fish from Bihar are sent to other states. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while addressing the people after inaugurating the demonstration program on the use of drone technology in the field of fisheries at Gyan Bhawan located at Samrat Ashoka Convention Centre, said that what was the status of development works in Bihar before the year 2005, everyone should know. Do you know. Before 2005, fish production was very low. Fishes were brought here from other states. All sectors including agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries were developed. Many steps were taken for the convenience of the people. Besides, many works were done for the progress of women. The Chief Minister said that the first agricultural road map was made for the year 2008 to 2012. The second agricultural road map was made for the year 2012 to 2017, which was launched by the then President Pranab Mukherjee. The third agricultural road map was made for the year 2017 to the year 2023, which was inaugurated by the then President Ramnath Kovind and the fourth agricultural road map has been implemented from the year 2024, which was inaugurated by President Draupadi Murmu. With the implementation of the agricultural road map, the production of vegetables, milk, eggs, meat, fruits and other crops has increased.
An amount of Rs 1 lakh 62 thousand crore was approved for the fourth Agriculture Road Map. He said that in the year 2005, fish production was 2 lakh 88 thousand metric tons, which has now increased to 8 lakh 73 thousand metric tons. The Chief Minister said, “Many works are being done by the Central Government for the development of Bihar, for this I congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Assistance has been given by the Central Government for the development of fisheries in the state. The state government is also taking many steps for the development of fisheries. Fishermen are benefiting a lot from the steps taken by the state government and the central government for development in the field of fisheries. He once again reiterated that we were in NDA from the beginning and now we will remain in NDA. In between, we had gone with those people twice, it was our mistake and we will never go here again. He assured that our party has had relations with BJP since the beginning. Together we will continue to develop the state and the country. The program was also addressed by Union Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh. On this occasion, 0.50 lakh fish seeds were distributed to 15 fish farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana.
