The first complaint filed by the Bharatiya Janata Party against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was done on 19 September for what he said between 8 and 11 August in America. Think, what were the BJP leaders waiting for for about 10 days? If what Rahul said about reservation and Sikhs was so hurtful or was going to spoil the unity, integrity and social fabric of the country, then why did the BJP leaders not file a case immediately? BJP leaders had started protesting. Its leaders had also protested against Rahul Gandhi and had also threatened him but no case was filed anywhere.
Meanwhile, the Congress party filed a case against the abusive words and threats being used against Rahul. Congress leader Ajay Maken filed a case in Tughlaq Road police station in Delhi against the statements of BJP leaders Tarvinder Singh Marwah and Ravneet Singh Bittu and a leader of BJP’s ally Shiv Sena. After this case was filed, BJP felt that it should take retaliatory action and started filing cases a day after that. In retaliation, it did not just file a case, but on August 19, cases were filed against Rahul in Delhi as well as Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. A day after this, BJP leaders in Karnataka also filed a case against the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. Think about it, the sentiments of BJP leaders were hurt on September 9 or 10, but cases were filed against them on September 19 and 20. Obviously, this is not a matter of hurt sentiments, but an action of retaliating by filing a complaint.
