Will the Bharatiya Janata Party leave any seats in Jharkhand for its Bihar ally Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas)? BJP’s election co-incharge Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that the party is waiting for Chirag Paswan and will talk to him after his return from abroad. From this it seems that he may be given a seat. Keep in mind that the last time BJP left a seat for Lok Janshakti Party was in 2014. Shivdhan Murmu of LJP had contested from Shikaripada seat of Santhalpargana but he stood third. This time also BJP can leave a similar seat for Chirag’s party.
Keep in mind that Himanta Biswa Sarma has talked about giving two seats to Bihar’s big ally Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (U). It is being told that seat sharing with Janata Dal U has been finalized. On behalf of Nitish’s party, Saryu Rai can contest from Jamshedpur West and Krishna Gopal Patar alias Raja Peter can contest from Tamar seat. When Nitish’s party is being given two seats, there is no scope for Chirag to get more than one seat. However, he has asked for 11 seats and has said that if his demand is not accepted then he will contest on 40 seats. Keep in mind that Chirag has joined the opposition on many issues including the recommendation to stop funding of madrassas. However, they are returning on Wednesday, October 16. Chirag, who was in many negative news regarding his Europe trip, has to decide on returning to Jharkhand.
