New Delhi. Voters have decided the fate of political parties in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. These decisions are captured in EVM. After voting in three phases in the state, the results will now be declared on October 8. In such a situation, the question is now arising whether Jammu and Kashmir can get its first Hindu Chief Minister? In fact, after the abolition of Article 370, assembly elections have been held for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir. Voting took place in all three phases in Jammu and Kashmir. Voting was 61.38 percent in the first phase, 57.31 percent in the second phase and 66.56 percent in the third phase. On the basis of three phases of voting, many big claims are being made about the atmosphere being created in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir this time.
One of these claims is that this time Jammu and Kashmir may get its first Hindu Chief Minister. The reason behind this claim is the rhetoric made during the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. BJP has openly said during the election campaign that this time it will form a government with full majority in the state and the new Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir will be from Jammu region only. If we look at the history of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, this has not happened till now, but this time the reason for the emphasis on the name of Hindu Chief Minister is BJP’s focus on 43 seats in Jammu region. 43 seats in the 90-member Jammu and Kashmir Assembly come from the Jammu region, which is a Hindu-dominated region, while 47 seats come from the Kashmir Valley.
During the last few assembly elections, hung results were reported in Jammu and Kashmir. A government was formed here but every time a Muslim person sat on the post of CM. Most of the leaders who became CM belonged to the valley, but there was Ghulam Nabi Azad, who belonged to Jammu. Assembly elections were last held in Jammu and Kashmir in the year 2014. In this election, BJP had won 25 seats in Jammu region. BJP along with PDP had formed the government in Jammu and Kashmir. Then BJP got the post of Deputy CM.
