Case twisted: CM Siddaramaiah appeared before Lokayukta for questioning

Mysore (Karnataka). Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah appeared before Mysore Lokayukta Superintendent TJ Udesh on Wednesday morning regarding the ‘Mysore Urban Development Authority’ (MUDA) case. CM Siddaramaiah has been made the main accused in the case related to alleged irregularities in MUDA. Siddaramaiah is the first Chief Minister in the history of Karnataka to face a Lokayukta inquiry while in power. CM Siddaramaiah’s past record has been quite clean. He is facing investigation for the first time in his political career spanning four decades. CM Siddaramaiah reached Mysore from Bengaluru. He was received at the Government Guest House by Social Welfare Minister H.C. Mahadevappa and Animal Husbandry Minister K. Venkatesh welcomed. CM Siddaramaiah had breakfast at the guest house and then went straight to the Lokayukta office. CM Siddaramaiah will be questioned about his role in allotment of land to his family on 50:50 ratio, land conversion and alleged forgery of documents.

Sources said that if CM Siddaramaiah gets a clean chit in the Lokayukta investigation, it will help him argue that there is no need for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the charges against him are politically motivated. . The High Court will hear the petition demanding CBI investigation on November 26. The court has also asked the Lokayukta to submit the investigation report. Petitioner Snehamoyi Krishna has said that she has submitted a list of questions to be asked to CM Siddaramaiah. If Lokayukta fails to ask these questions, CM Siddaramaiah will have to face these questions by CBI in future. High alert has been issued in the areas around the Lokayukta office in Mysore. Lokayukta has arrested CM Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvati (second accused), the third accused is his brother-in-law Mallikarjunaswamy and the fourth accused J. Devaraju was interrogated. Devaraju is the owner of the land.
