New Delhi. The controversy over the presence of animal fat and fish oil in the Laddu Prasadam of Tirupati temple of Andhra Pradesh has increased further. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has made this allegation citing a lab report. On this, the central government has sought a report from the Andhra Pradesh government. Actually, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had said on September 18 that during the government of Jagan Mohan Reddy, fish oil and animal fat were used instead of ghee in making Laddu. Jagan Mohan’s party YSR Congress has denied this.
Now the Union Health Ministry has sought a report from the Andhra Pradesh government. Health Minister JP Nadda said on Friday – I have spoken to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The temple prasad will be tested. Earlier, a day after Naidu made the allegations, his party claimed to confirm his allegations by showing a lab report. Against this, YSR Congress demanded the High Court to form a committee to investigate Naidu’s allegations. The court will hear this on September 25. It is being told that the lab report that the TDP leader is referring to does not say where the sample is from.
However, this controversy has hurt the sentiments of crores of devotees. It is worth mentioning that about three and a half lakh laddus are made every day in Tirupati temple. Tirumala Trust earns five hundred crore rupees every year from Prasadam. Regarding adulteration in it, TDP has said that in the last five years the Jagan Mohan government and the leaders of YSR Congress Party have tarnished the sanctity of Tirumala. Meanwhile, the temple administration has formed a four-member committee to investigate this.
