Mangaluru. Tensions arose between two communities on the occasion of Milad Un Nabi in Mangaluru, Karnataka on Monday. Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal demonstrated at many places. During the demonstration, they also clashed with the police. Actually, the workers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal had expressed displeasure over a social media post related to Milad Un Nabi. After this, both the organizations took to the streets of Mangaluru to protest on Monday morning.
To stop the protest of VHP and Bajrang Dal, the police had put up barricades, which were broken by the protesters. To control the situation, the administration has deployed Rapid Action Force personnel. Keeping in mind the possibility of protests, Dakshina Kannada police had made tight security arrangements in the entire district a day before Milad un Nabi.
Meanwhile, a news channel report said that the tension had started increasing from Sunday night itself. On Sunday at around 10:30 pm, some bike riders pelted stones at a mosque in Katipalla on the outskirts of Mangaluru. The glass of the mosque broke in this. Mangaluru police arrested five people in connection with the incident. All these people are associated with Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Vishwa Hindu Parishad workers had protested late at night regarding the arrests.
