Congress ignores Dalits when good days come: Mayawati

Lucknow. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Monday targeted the Congress. Former Uttar Pradesh CM Mayawati has said that the Congress gives a prominent place to Dalits in bad days and sidelines them when good days come. Mayawati wrote in a post on the social media platform X on Monday, “The political developments in the country so far prove that especially the Congress and other casteist parties remember to keep Dalits in the chief minister and important positions in the organization etc. for some time in their bad days. But these parties, in their good days, mostly sideline them. In their place, casteist people are then kept in those positions, as is being seen in Haryana state as well. Further said that such insulted Dalit leaders should take inspiration from their messiah Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and separate themselves from such parties and they should also come forward to keep their society away from such parties.

Because the most revered Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar had resigned from his post of Union Law Minister for the self-respect and self-esteem of the weaker sections of the country. Inspired by him, I too resigned from my Rajya Sabha MP post in respect and self-respect of the Dalits in Saharanpur district, when they were ignored and not allowed to speak out against their oppression. In such a situation, the advice to Dalits is to follow the footsteps of Baba Saheb. He said that apart from this, Congress and other casteist parties have been against their reservation since the beginning. Rahul Gandhi has gone abroad and announced to end it. These people must be cautious of such anti-Constitution, reservation and anti-SC, ST, OBC parties.
