Congress' promise to restore the state

Srinagar. Before the campaign for the first phase of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir ends, Congress has released its manifesto. Congress party has said in its manifesto that if its government is formed, then three thousand rupees will be given every month to the female head of poor families and it has also promised to give 11 kg rice instead of 5 kg for free. Nothing has been said about Article 370 in Congress’ election manifesto but it has promised to restore the state status of Jammu and Kashmir.

However, Jammu and Kashmir Congress President Tariq Hameed Karra and Congress media in-charge Pawan Khera were present on the occasion of the release of the Congress manifesto. Giving information about the manifesto, Tariq Hameed Karra said – I want to tell you that this manifesto of the Congress Party is truly a manifesto of the people. Through committees in 22 districts, we contacted various sections of the society. We took feedback and included their valuable views in this document. We proudly call it the manifesto of the people.

Pawan Khera said on this occasion- The situation in Kashmir for the last 10 years has filled the heart of Kashmir with wounds. But now the time has come to heal those wounds. A long night is about to end in Jammu and Kashmir and the morning is about to come. He said- For the last 10 years, such a government is running in Delhi, in which the voice of the people is not being heard. Keeping this in mind, our team went to 22 districts, talked to the people and prepared our manifesto under that. This manifesto is not just a bundle of paper. This is our guarantee. This is a matter of rights, which we will fulfill.

Congress has promised that a minority commission will be formed within the first 100 days of coming to power. 100% insurance for all crops, minimum support price of Rs 72 for apples will be fixed, statehood status of Jammu and Kashmir will be restored and along with providing inclusive and accountable governance, the party has also promised to restore the process of Darbar Move i.e. the functioning of the government from both Srinagar and Jammu. Congress has also promised to give Rs 3500 per month to the unemployed.
