Consensus on seat sharing in Mahayuti

There has almost been an agreement on seat sharing between the ruling grand alliance in Maharashtra i.e. BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP. Leaders of all three parties have indicated that seat distribution has taken place with mutual consent. In this, Ajit Pawar’s party is going to be the biggest loser. It is being told that before the seat distribution, BJP and Shiv Sena put so much pressure on him that he had no option left except to fight alone or return to uncle Sharad Pawar’s party. That’s why it is being said that they have agreed to remain in the alliance even with less seats than expected. According to informed sources, his party will get less than 50 seats. Earlier they were demanding 55 to 60 seats.

According to informed sources, after talks between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and leaders of the three parties, an agreement was reached on seat sharing. According to this, BJP will contest on 150 seats. BJP will contest more than half the seats in the 288-member assembly. It also contested on 154 seats in coordination with the unified Shiv Sena. However, out of the remaining seats, Eknath Shinde’s party has to contest around 90 seats. If BJP and Shiv Sena contest on 90 seats, then 48 seats will be left, out of which BJP will have to give some seats to Ramdas Athawale’s party. It is being said that Ajit Pawar’s party is pressurizing Shiv Sena to reduce some seats and NCP’s seats should be increased. There seems to be little possibility of this. Meanwhile, the matter of distribution of MLC seats has also come to a halt. It is being said that it is a part of assembly seat distribution.
