Kolkata/Patna. The controversy has intensified over the issue of beating of students from Bihar who had gone to appear for exams in West Bengal. Videos of students being asked for their identity cards, being beaten up, having a sit-in meeting and ordering them to leave Bengal are going viral. The leaders of Bihar have reacted sharply to this. Union Minister Giriraj Singh has said that Mamata Banerjee’s government is giving shelter to Rohingyas and beating up the students of Bihar. RJD chief Lalu Prasad has spoken to Mamata Banerjee in this matter.

It is noteworthy that the video going viral is from Siliguri. However, after the video went viral, the person who beat up the students of Bihar was arrested by the West Bengal Police on Thursday. The person who beat up the students has been identified as Rajat Bhattacharya. The accused is a member of a fundamentalist organization named ‘Bangla Pakkho’. Giriraj Singh has shared the video of his misbehavior with the students of Bihar on his social media platform X.

In this video it can be seen that some candidates are sleeping on the floor in a room. At the same time some people reach his room. These people ask questions to the students in Bengali language. When they hear that the students are from Bihar, they say – You are from Bihar, then why did you come to Bengal to take the exam. They ask for papers from the students and beat them if they do not give them. While sharing this video, Giriraj Singh said- Red carpet is spread for Rohingya Muslims in Bengal and a child from Bihar who has gone for examination is being beaten? Are these children not a part of India?
