Sydney. David Warner has been named captain of Sydney Thunder for the Big Bash League (BBL 14) season after his leadership ban was lifted by an independent review panel last month. The experienced left-hander, who once captained the Thunder in 2011, replaced Chris Green as captain, although the latter remains a part of the team as a player. Being the founding captain for the Thunder, Warner expressed his excitement about the role and his commitment to shaping the next generation of the team. “It means a lot to me to captain the Thunder again this season,” he said in a statement. I was part of the team from the beginning, and now it feels great to be back with that ‘C’ next to my name. I look forward to leading from the front and sharing my experience with the young talents.
