When Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Gohana, Sonipat for a rally on Wednesday, September 25, he said many things while attacking Congress. One thing in it was that there is so much infighting within the Congress that if the Congress comes to power, it will not be able to work for the people of Haryana. The Prime Minister mentioned Congress MP Kumari Selja in a gesture without taking her name. In fact, Kumari Shailaja had not gone out for campaigning for the last several days. She wanted to contest the assembly elections and also wanted that the Congress high command should not hand over everything to Bhupendra Singh Hooda. Meanwhile, someone made a caste-related objectionable comment about her, after which she sat at home. Well now she has agreed. On the other hand, Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Surjewala, who was once very close to Bhupendra Hooda, has openly said that he is a contender for the post of CM. He said that Bhupendra Singh Hooda, Kumari Selja and he himself want to become Chief Minister.
Quoting Surjewala’s statement and Shailja’s displeasure, the Prime Minister said that there is infighting in the Congress. But BJP is also not left out of this. There is a lot of internal tussle in BJP also. Party leaders are openly claiming for the post of Chief Minister and the BJP high command is having to give clarification on this in meetings. Recently, senior party leader Anil Vij announced that after the elections, he will stake claim for the post of Chief Minister on the basis of his seniority. On the same day he said this, BJP’s election in-charge in Haryana Dharmendra Pradhan said that Naib Singh Saini will be the Chief Minister. Further, Amit Shah himself said in a meeting that the party is fighting on the face of Naib Singh Saini and he will be the CM after the elections. On the other hand, the claim of Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh is also not ending. He is also campaigning by calling himself a CM contender. He has also given tickets to many supporters including his daughter Aarti Rao so that pressure can be created if necessary after the elections. So, apart from the disputes in ticket distribution, both the parties are still openly claiming the post of CM.
