DK Shivkumar does not want to become the new CM

Amazing things are happening in the politics of Karnataka Congress. DK Shivakumar, the strongest contender for the post of Chief Minister in place of Siddaramaiah, does not want Siddaramaiah to be removed from the post in the alleged scam in the land of Mysuru Urban Development Authority i.e. MUDA. They feel that if Siddaramaiah is removed on corruption charges and in the name of ED action, then Shivakumar’s number will not come because a similar investigation is going on against him. Both CBI and ED are investigating and in some cases the courts have asked to complete the investigation quickly. That’s why Shivkumar does not want the impression to be created that after investigation, he is removed from the post.

On the contrary, DKS and many other leaders are giving the example of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that one can remain the CM even after going to jail. A major reason for this is that DKS is feeling that if Siddaramaiah steps down, then there is talk of G Parameshwara’s name or the lottery of Ramesh Jarkiholi, one of the Jarkilohi brothers, may open. If any of these becomes CM, the way forward will be closed. That’s why DKS and his team along with some other Congress leaders are creating the impression that Siddaramaiah is the biggest OBC face and if he is removed then the message will not go well in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. Especially in Maharashtra, where Congress is playing politics of OBC votes this time. Therefore, despite the initiation of ED investigation, there is no possibility of Siddaramaiah stepping down.
