New Delhi. The infinite form of Lord Shri Hari is worshipped on Anant Chaturdashi i.e. Chaudas. Anant means that which has no limit. Unlimited. The Sheshnag form of the Lord is worshipped. It is said that he is worshipped to get rid of every obstacle. It is being celebrated on 17 September in 2024. The number 14 is important on Chaturdashi. What exactly are these 14? What is its connection with Lord Vishnu? Anant Chaturdashi is a festival of faith. Sorrows are destroyed and happiness and prosperity come into life. According to tradition, a Raksha Sutra is tied on the arm with 14 knots on this day. The number 14 is because it is believed that on this day Lord Vishnu created 14 worlds. Not only this, after creating it, he also took 14 forms to fulfill the responsibility as a protector and guardian. Because of this, it started appearing infinite.
Now let us tell you about these fourteen knots. These indicate Bhoolok, Bhuvalok, Svalok, Mahalok, Janlok, Tapolok, Brahmalok, Atal, Vital, Satal, Rasatal, Talatal, Mahatal, and Patal Lok. The festival is being celebrated on 17 September across the country. Talking about the auspicious time, the beginning is on 16 September at 1.15 pm and the end is on the next day, 17 September at 11:09 am. Since Udaya date is on 16, it is being celebrated on 17 considering it as the basis. This day is important from both religious and spiritual point of view. On this day, there is a ritual of worshipping Shri Hari at noon and also observing a fast. Worshipers do not taste dishes made with salt on this day. It is also said that the Pandavas also observed a fast on the advice of Shri Krishna himself and they got the essence of liberation from infinite sorrows.
