ED filed a case against Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s troubles have increased. After the Lokayukta police registered a case to investigate the alleged scam in the land of Mysuru Urban Development Authority i.e. MUDA, now the central investigation agency Enforcement Directorate i.e. ED has also registered a case in this matter. The ED on Monday registered a case against Siddaramaiah and some others under money laundering charges in the alleged scam related to land allotment of Muda. ED has taken this action after taking cognizance of the FIR of the State Lokayukta Police.

During its investigation process, ED has the right to call the accused for questioning and confiscate their property. According to informed sources, ED has filed Enforcement Case Information Report i.e. ECIR against the Chief Minister and others. Siddaramaiah, his wife BM Parvathi, his brothers-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy and Devaraju and others have been named in the FIR lodged by the Lokayukta police in Mysuru on September 27 in the alleged irregularities in land allotment.

Last week, a special court in Bengaluru had ordered the Lokayukta police to investigate against Siddaramaiah in this case, after which the Lokayukta police registered this FIR. The special court’s order came a day after the Karnataka High Court upheld Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot’s approval to conduct an investigation against Siddaramaiah in the case.
