Srinagar. The series of terrorist attacks that started in Jammu and Kashmir after the Lok Sabha elections is not stopping. On Sunday, a bomb exploded in a market in the capital Srinagar, in which 12 people were injured. The blast took place in the Sunday market near the Tourist Reception Center or TRC in Srinagar. This explosion was caused by a grenade. According to initial information, 12 people have been injured, but late in the evening it was told that this number may increase.
Immediately after the incident, the entire area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers. It is noteworthy that such terrorist incidents were not happening in Srinagar for the last two years. But within two days two consecutive terrorist incidents have taken place. There was an encounter between the army and terrorists in Khanyar area on Saturday, November 2, a day before Sunday’s bomb blast. A Pakistani terrorist was killed in this. Four security forces personnel were also injured in this encounter. On Saturday itself, security forces had killed terrorists in an encounter in Anantnag.
However, on Sunday’s bomb blast incident, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said – For the last few days, news of attacks and encounters in some parts of the valley have been in the headlines. Today’s news of grenade attack on innocent shopkeepers in Srinagar’s Sunday Market is extremely disturbing. He said- There can be no justification for targeting innocent civilians. The security system should make every effort to stop the frequent attacks as soon as possible so that people can live their lives without any fear.
Earlier, National Conference supremo and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah had said that the continuous attacks should be seriously investigated. He had expressed apprehension that there might be a conspiracy behind this to destabilize the Omar government. However, after Sunday’s bomb blast, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that the terrorists will have to pay a heavy price for this.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha spoke to Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat and senior officials of security agencies about the grenade attack in Srinagar. Manoj Sinha said- Terrorists who target civilians will have to pay a very heavy price. Security agencies are completely free to crush terrorist organizations and their plans. Meanwhile, after the bomb blast, State Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary, Cabinet Minister Sakina Itu and Sonawari MLA Hilal Akbar Lone reached SMHS Hospital in Srinagar. He inquired about the health of those injured in the grenade attack.
