FIR registered against Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru. An FIR has been registered against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the alleged scam in the land of Mysuru Urban Development Authority i.e. MUDA. On Friday, September 27, the Lokayukta police registered a case against Siddaramaiah. The special court of Karnataka has handed over the investigation of this case to the Lokayukta. Earlier, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot had ordered an investigation into the Muda land scam and the High Court had also upheld the Governor’s order.

On August 16, Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot had ordered an inquiry against Siddaramaiah in this alleged scam. Siddaramaiah went to the High Court against this, but on September 24, the High Court also said that the order for investigation was correct. The High Court said that there should be an investigation. After that the special court asked the Lokayukta to investigate it. It is noteworthy that the names of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, his wife, brother-in-law and some officials have come up in the Muda land scam.

Social activists TJ Abraham, Pradeep and Snehamoyi Krishna had alleged that the Chief Minister had fraudulently acquired 14 expensive sites in connivance with Muda officials. In this matter, Siddaramaiah had filed a petition in the High Court against the Governor’s order. Justice M Nagaprasanna rejected Siddaramaiah’s petition against the Governor’s order and said – it is necessary to investigate the things mentioned in the petition. The Chief Minister’s family is involved in the case, hence the petition is dismissed.
