Ganesh Utsav has started from today. Today Ganpati Bappa is being worshipped across the country. Today is 7th September i.e. Ganesh Chaturthi and from today onwards Ganpati Utsav will be celebrated in every home. Today Ganpati Bappa will visit every home. In Hinduism, the holy festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Ganesha. Before starting any noble work, we remember the first revered Vighnaharta Shri Ganesha. Ganeshji removes all obstacles and gives auspicious results at the beginning of new works. The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated every year on the Chaturthi date of Bhadrapada month (Ganesh Chaturthi 2024)

Today is the holy festival of Ganesh Chaturthi
According to the Vedic calendar, this year the Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month will begin on 6th September at 3.01 pm and will end the next day on 7th September at 5.37 pm. According to the Udaya Tithi, this year Ganesh Chaturthi will begin today i.e. 7th September, Saturday. On this day, the idol of Ganesh Ji will be installed and a fast will be observed. On this day, to please Ganesh Ji, his favorite modaks and laddus are offered.
When can we install Ganesh Ji?
According to astrology, the auspicious time for Ganesh Chaturthi worship and idol installation on September 7 will be from 11:15 am to 1.43 pm. Thus, the auspicious time for Ganesh Chaturthi worship and idol installation on September 7 will be 2 hours 31 minutes, during which devotees can worship Ganpati Bappa.
Ganesh Chaturthi Immersion Date
This festival lasts for 10 days and ends with the immersion of Ganesha’s idol on Anant Chaturdashi. The last day of the festival is also known as Ganesh Visarjan. On this day, devotees bid farewell to Ganpati Bappa with great pomp and pray to him to come again next year. This year Ganesh Visarjan will be done on Tuesday, 17 September 2024.
How to worship on Ganesh Chaturthi
In the worship of Ganpati, spread a mat in a clean and quiet place and install an idol or picture of Ganesh ji. Purify the idol with Gangajal. After that decorate Ganesh ji with roli, sandalwood and flowers. Put vermilion on his trunk and offer Durva. Then light a ghee lamp and incense. Offer modak and fruits to Ganesh ji. At the end of the worship, chant the aarti of Ganesh ji and Om Gan Ganpataye Namah mantra and ask Ganesh ji for your wishes.
