Let us tell you that since 2015, Greece has been the main entry point for refugees and migrants to enter European Union countries. Greece is one of those countries where people from countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East arrive with the intention of entering the European Union. These people are often forced to leave their country due to poverty or war.
More than one million people have arrived on Greek shores in the past nine years. Most of these people continue their journey towards other European countries. However, there have been many accidents while traveling by sea route in which hundreds of people have died. Boats full of migrants often become victims of accidents along the coasts of Greece. Let us tell you that in September this year also, three people died due to drowning in the sea near the Aegean island of Samos.
