Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav have become overly excited by the success of the Lok Sabha elections. Akhilesh is making one statement after another which proves that he is doing some extra reading of the results of the Lok Sabha elections and drawing some extra conclusions. But Kharge is a very experienced leader and speaks after thinking. Still, when he held his first election rally in Jammu and Kashmir, he said that if the opposition had got 20 more seats in the Lok Sabha elections, all the BJP leaders would have been in jail. Think, what does this statement mean? The opposition alliance ‘India’ has got 204 seats and if we add Mamata Banerjee’s seat to it, the number becomes 233. If they had got 20 more seats, the number would have been 253, which is 19 less than the majority required to form the government.
If we don’t take Kharge’s words literally and understand the sentiment, he meant to say that if we had got a few more seats, we would have formed the government and sent all the BJP leaders to jail. The question is, wouldn’t the government be accused of being unfair to the opposition? When Narendra Modi had 284 and 303 MPs, his government sent some opposition leaders to jail, the opposition called it injustice and protested all over the country. But if Kharge had formed the government by force and put the entire opposition in jail, it would have been a very just act! It would not have been called dictatorship! Similarly, Akhilesh said that if the government is formed in the state, all the bulldozers will be sent to Gorakhpur. That means, in his government too, bulldozers will be run, but their target will be Yogi Adityanath’s monastery in Gorakhpur. The question is, when you also have to run the bulldozer, then why are you making so much ruckus over Yogi Adityanath’s bulldozer action? Is it because the Yogi government’s bulldozer is mostly running on Muslim accused? But you are also talking about sending bulldozers to Gorakshapeeth?
