Bengaluru. The bail plea of Kannada superstar Darshan, accused of fan murder, will be heard in the court today. Darshan is lodged in jail, recently three associates of the actor have been released on bail. Darshan’s bail plea was adjourned by the court till September 30, but the hearing did not take place even on September 30 and its date was again postponed. Actually, Darshan’s lawyer had asked for more time to present his arguments. Senior lawyer Sunil, appearing for Darshan, had earlier met the Kannada star in Bellary jail after the charge sheet was filed in the murder of fan Renukaswamy. Jama (Sunil)’s plea, filed after the charge sheet was submitted, states that the actor is innocent and has been “framed” in the case. The bail plea said, “Except for a serious injury on the head, no serious injury was found on the body of Renukaswamy. The exact time of his death is not clear. There is a contradiction between the statements given before the court and the medical report. There is no evidence to prove that Darshan committed the murder. The authorities have collected evidence against Darshan in the case. According to his 20-page statement mentioned in the charge sheet filed by the police, Darshan had confessed to torturing Renukaswamy.
She said this was done because he had sent obscene messages to her (Darshan) partner Pavitra Gowda. Along with this he also claimed that he was informed about the death of the victim later. The 3,991-page charge sheet presented in the court of the 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) on September 4 gives detailed details of the attack on Renukaswamy. It said that a gang kidnapped Renukaswamy and held him hostage, which later led to his death. It has also been claimed in the charge sheet that Renukaswami had created a fake ID on Instagram in the name of Gautam and chatted with Pavitra Gowda. The charge sheet claims that Renukaswamy had described himself as superior to Darshan. On June 9, Renukaswami was abducted from Chitradurga and brought to Bengaluru, where he was locked in a shed in Pattangere and beaten brutally. Renukaswamy was later murdered and his body was thrown into a drain in Sumanahalli. On June 11, 17 people including Darshan and his associate Pavitra Gowda were arrested. The court has granted bail to three of the 17 accused.
