It does not seem possible that actress-turned-politician and Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut is paying heed to the warnings of the top leadership of her party, the BJP. The party’s national president JP Nadda had called her and explained to her not to make statements on policy matters. When she made a statement about Sikhs, the party was embarrassed and only after that Nadda had asked her to keep quiet. But now in the middle of the Haryana elections, she has raised the issue of farmers. Kangana Ranaut has said that the three agricultural laws that the central government had withdrawn under the pressure of the farmers’ movement should be implemented in the country. Kangana said that not all the farmers of the country had opposed it. She called upon the farmers to come forward and demand the implementation of these laws.
This statement created a stir in the party. Immediately the party’s national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia denied it. He said that Kangana Ranaut is not authorized to express the party’s opinion on any policy matter. But the damage that was to be done by her statement has already been done. Haryana is one of the two states that were the center of the farmers’ movement. Wrestlers are already angry with the work and statements of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh there and now farmers are also angry with Kangana’s statement. Keep in mind that Haryana’s politics runs on the factor of farmer, soldier and wrestler. Two of these three have become angry. BJP is facing difficulty in damage control. Meanwhile, there is a joke going on in social media that Kangana’s film ‘Emergency’ is not being released under the BJP government, so she is taking revenge for that.
