Panduranga Swamy temple is located in Untakallu village of Raidurgam in Anantapur. It is believed that if people who are addicted to alcohol worship Swami once, they get rid of their addiction to alcohol. People here say that the glory of Panduranga Swamy is immense. Every day thousands of devotees come here to worship the Lord. People addicted to alcohol are given Panduranga garland to wear after having darshan of the Lord here. It is claimed that due to the effect of this garland, people gradually get free from the addiction of alcohol.
Swami Mandir Ki Panduranga Mala Ki Mahima
There are rules for wearing Panduranga Mala. This garland has to be worn only two days in a month. Those days are Shukla Ekadashi and Krishna Ekadashi. Those who want to wear the Panduranga Mala will have to pay Rs 100. To get it, one has to get a token in the temple a few days before the Ekadashi date. The chief priest of the temple puts the garland around the neck based on the token number. No money is taken from the devotees except the Rs 100 given for the garland. Devotees who wear the garland must visit the Lord in the temple on three consecutive Ekadashi dates. Devotees can visit Panduranga Swamy from 7 am to 7 pm.
