Indians are worried in Nepal

Nepal was once a Hindu nation. There was a relationship of bread and daughter between the people of both the countries. Janakpur Dham is in Nepal, which is considered to be the in-laws house of Lord Ram. Janakpur is considered to be the capital of the old Mithila kingdom. Thousands of Hindus from India have businesses in Nepal. Almost all the business in the border cities is in the hands of Hindus of India. 80 percent of Nepal’s population is Hindu. But first due to policy reasons, Indian people started targeting Nepali citizens and after that Hindus of India also started being targeted. The situation has reached such a level that the division between Hindus and Muslims in India has reached there also. There was a major dispute between Hindus and Muslims in October last year, due to which curfew was imposed for several days in Banke city of Nepalganj, bordering Uttar Pradesh. Actually someone had posted some objectionable content towards Islam on the internet. Muslims demonstrated against this. The next day, when Hindus took out a peace procession, the procession was attacked. There was heavy stone pelting and bullets were fired. The video went viral, in which Hindus are running away carrying saffron flags and stones are being showered on them.

Even though 80 percent of the population in Nepal is Hindu, the conditions of Indian Hindus there are very bad. The people of India are being discriminated against, due to which their business is being affected. Due to geopolitical reasons, successive governments of Nepal have adopted a policy of hostility towards India. While tension between the two countries has increased over the border dispute, anti-India sentiments have flared up in Nepal due to China’s interference. The Hindus of India, who are somehow managing their businesses there, are closing their businesses and returning to India.

After the demonetization of Rs 2000 note last year, such situations suddenly arose due to which Indians and Hindus suffered huge losses. Nepal unilaterally banned Indian currency. All currencies worth more than Rs 100 were banned. Purchases above Rs 100 are being monitored and tax is being imposed. The Indian currency Rupee is devaluing rapidly against the Nepalese Rupee. According to Indian law, any Indian citizen can go to Nepal with Rs 25,000 in cash, but now Nepal is not even following this rule. You can be arrested in Nepal for keeping Rs 25,000 in cash. Due to this attitude of Nepal, the daily business worth hundreds of crores of rupees of the people around the border is being affected. Such a situation has been prevailing since the demonetization of November 2016. There were talks between the two countries regarding this, but no solution could be found. On the other hand, this attitude of Nepal is leading to increase in smuggling. From drugs and weapons to gold and daily essentials, smuggling is taking place.
