Indira Ekadashi 2024: Indira Ekadashi fast is observed on the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month, which has special significance in Hindu religion. According to the Panchang, the date of Indira Ekadashi will start at 1:19 pm on Friday, September 27, and will end at 2:50 pm on Saturday, September 28. According to Udaya Tithi, Indira Ekadashi fast will be observed on Saturday, September 28. (Indira Ekadashi 2024)
The most auspicious time for worshiping on this fast will be from 7:42 am to 9:12 am on 28th September. Apart from this, the time from 3:11 pm to 4:40 pm is also considered very auspicious for worship. Worshiping Lord Vishnu during these two auspicious times brings special results and the souls of the ancestors are blessed with peace and salvation.
Method of worship of Shaligram ji on Indira Ekadashi
There is a special tradition of worshiping Lord Shaligram on Indira Ekadashi. On this day, wake up early in the morning, after cleaning the house, take a bath and pledge to fast in front of the idol of Lord Vishnu. The virtue of this fast can be dedicated to the ancestors for their welfare. If you wish for the salvation of your ancestors, then mention it specifically while taking the resolution of the fast.
After taking the resolution of the fast, start worshiping Lord Shaligram by lighting incense sticks and lamps. First of all, bathe Lord Shaligram with Panchamrit (milk, curd, ghee, honey, and Ganga water). Offer Roli, Akshat, flowers and fruits in the puja. Pay special attention that it is very important to offer Tulsi leaves to Lord Shaligram, because it is very dear to Lord Vishnu. After this, offer it to Lord Shaligram, in which basil leaves must be used.

- By chanting Lord Vishnu’s mantra Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya Namah 21 times on the day of Indira Ekadashi, troubles and troubles go away.
- On the day of Indira Ekadashi, worship by lighting a lamp under the Peepal tree and circumambulating the tree 11 times. It is believed that by doing this the ancestors are pleased.
