Jaggi Vasudev's Isha Foundation searched

Chennai. On the orders of Madras High Court, a team of about 150 policemen searched the ashram of Isha Foundation on Tuesday. This action was taken after the High Court had sought information about all the criminal cases registered against the Foundation. Three DSPs were also involved in the search operation. The police investigated the people and rooms living in the ashram. However, Isha Yoga Center said that this is just a routine investigation. Police are talking to the people here and understanding their lifestyle and ways of living here.

It is noteworthy that earlier during Monday’s hearing, the Madras High Court had asked Isha Foundation founder and spiritual guru Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev that when you have married your daughter, then you have asked other’s daughters to shave their heads and become ascetics by renouncing worldly life. Why are you encouraged to live like that?

In fact, S Kamaraj, a retired professor at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in Coimbatore, has filed a petition against Isha Foundation. He alleges that his two daughters, Geeta Kamaraj alias Maa Mathi and Lata Kamaraj alias Maa Mayu, have been kept in captivity at the Isha Yoga Centre. He alleged that Isha Foundation brainwashed his daughters, due to which they became ascetics. Their daughters are being given some food and medicine, due to which their power to think and understand has been lost. A bench of Justices SM Subramaniam and V Sivagnanam directed the police to investigate the matter and prepare a list of all cases related to Isha Foundation.
