Kulgam. Voting for the first phase of the assembly elections has started in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. People are reaching their polling booths with great enthusiasm and voting. IANS tried to know by talking to the voters on which issues the common people voted in the state assembly elections being held here after about 10 years. An elderly man from Kulgam said after casting his vote at the polling booth that my vote is for democratic rights. I have come to cast my vote for prosperity, peace and democratic rights. Another voter said that my constituency is Kulgam Assembly Constituency.
I have to vote to protect democracy. Apart from this, we want people to vote for development. Elections are going to be held in our state after about 11 years. In these 11 years, we have faced a lot of problems. No one is listening to our problems. That is why today we have come to vote so that our government is formed. After this, our problems can be solved. Aqib, who lives in Kulgam, says that we have come here to vote so that the people of the state can get convenience. We hope that the candidate who wins will do good work for us.
The people of the state should definitely come out of their homes and vote. I am seeing very few people here right now. I hope that as soon as the morning time is over, people will come out to vote. A young voter said that there has been no development in Jammu and Kashmir for many years. This time we will choose a candidate who will work for us on the basis of our vote. We were waiting for this day with great expectations. Very tight security arrangements have been made at the local polling booths for voting. I appeal to our local youth to come out of their homes and vote to change the conditions of the state. Your vote will secure our future.
