Kedarnath Yatra : Accidents on the Kedarnath walking path are not stopping. One accident after another is happening on the Kedarnath path. The Kedarnath walking path has collapsed again near Jungle Chatti. About 10 to 15 meters of the Kedarnath walking path has collapsed. Travelers have been appealed not to travel on the walking path for the time being.
The district administration has appealed to all the pilgrims to wait at a safe place. The pilgrims coming on foot from Kedarnath will be allowed to leave on priority basis once the road is repaired. Security teams have been deployed on the spot. In this situation, the district administration has asked the pilgrims to visit other Dhams first.

10 to 15 meters of the footpath collapsed
After the monsoon slowed down, the second phase of the Kedarnath Yatra has started, in which a large number of devotees are visiting Kedarnath Dham. Late night, due to a landslide near Jungle Chatti between Gaurikund and Kedarnath, about 10 to 15 meters of the footpath was completely damaged. Due to this, SDRF, NDRF and DDRF teams have been deployed on the spot. In view of security, no pilgrim is being sent to Kedarnath Dham via footpath from Sonprayag and Gaurikund area.
First the passengers coming from Kedarnath will be evacuated
The pilgrims coming down from Kedarnath Dham are being stopped at safe places. When the alternative route is ready, the pilgrims coming down from the top will be evacuated first. The police has appealed to the pilgrims going to Kedarnath on foot to stay safe wherever they are at this time. Pilgrims should not rush to reach Sonprayag or Gaurikund, because the accommodation facilities for pilgrims in Sonprayag and Gaurikund area are limited. In such a situation, pilgrims have been advised to stay at places like Phata, Guptkashi, Rudraprayag, Srinagar.
