Kejriwal's attack on Ayushman Bharat scheme

New Delhi. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi, now it was the turn of former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal. He fiercely attacked the Ayushman Bharat scheme of the Central Government and said that no one has got the benefit of this scheme. He praised the scheme of Delhi Government as it provides treatment to every person. Earlier on Tuesday, while launching the scheme of free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh under Ayushman Bharat scheme for the elderly, Prime Minister Modi had said that Delhi and West Bengal governments are not implementing this scheme due to political reasons.

Countering this, Arvind Kejriwal said on Wednesday that CAG has found many irregularities in the Ayushman Bharat scheme. He said that under the scheme of Delhi Government, every person of Delhi gets free treatment. Be it a pill worth five rupees or a treatment worth crores, it is completely free. He said that the Prime Minister should implement Delhi’s scheme in the entire country. Kejriwal said that if the Prime Minister asks, the names of lakhs of people who will benefit from this will be sent to him.

Kejriwal said on Wednesday- Did people benefit from Ayushman Bharat scheme? Till date, in the states where Ayushman scheme is implemented, I have not met even a single person who has been treated under Ayushman Bharat. He said- I request the Prime Minister to study the Delhi model and instead of Ayushman Bharat scheme, implement the Delhi model all over India, so that people can benefit on the ground.

Earlier, the Prime Minister had said that he regrets that Delhi and Bengal are not included in this scheme, because the governments of both the states did not approve it. Meanwhile, BJP has filed a writ petition in the High Court against the decision of the Aam Aadmi Party government not to implement Ayushman in Delhi. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva gave this information on Wednesday.
