Kiwi pacer Ben Sears out of test series due to injury

Bengaluru. New Zealand has suffered a big setback just a day before the Test series to be played against Team India. Actually, Kiwi team’s fast bowler Ben Sears is out of the series due to injury. Jacob Duffy has now been included in the team in place of Ben Sears. Jacob has played ODI and T20 International matches for the Kiwi team, but he does not have any experience in Test matches yet. In such a situation, Jacob may get a chance to debut in the upcoming Test series against India. Ben Sears complained of left knee pain during the recent Test series practice in Sri Lanka and was scanned in New Zealand last week. The New Zealand Cricket Board said in a statement, “Sears’ departure for India was delayed due to a scan, the injury was detected in the scan. After medical advice, it was decided to drop him from the series.

New Zealand head coach Gary Stead said: “We are obviously disappointed for Ben, who has made a strong start to his Test career, and it remains to be seen how long we will be without him. But, we hope that he will make a full recovery soon. “This is an exciting opportunity for Jacob,” Stead said. We have three Test matches in front of us, so he has every chance to debut in Test cricket. A three-match Test series is to be played between India and Kiwi Team. The first Test match will be played on Wednesday 16 October at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The second Test will be played on 24 October in Pune, and the third and last Test will be played on 5 November in Mumbai.
