Lalu understood the reality in Jharkhand

RJD chief Lalu Prasad understood the reality, only then he agreed to contest elections on six seats. Earlier, his party had made a bid for eight seats and it was being said that it would fight on at least seven seats because last time also it had fought on seven seats. However, last time RJD was able to win only one seat after fighting on seven seats and that too was the seat of Satyanand Bhokta, who left BJP and joined RJD, who won from Chatra seat reserved for Scheduled Caste. The rest of the RJD, wherever it had fielded Yadav candidates, lost, despite the prevailing sentiment being in favor of the Congress, JMM and RJD alliance in the entire state. Then JMM won 30 seats and Congress won 16 seats.

However, on the basis of finishing second last time, RJD’s Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha was demanding eight seats and was saying that if the matter was not agreed to, RJD would contest on 20 seats. Tejashwi was also saying the same thing. But when JMM and Congress did not pay attention, Lalu Prasad took charge and agreed to six seats. The problem is that they have fielded Yadav candidates on three of these seats also. They know that unlike Bihar, Yadavs do not support them in Jharkhand, just like Luv Kush does not support Nitish or BJP in Jharkhand like Bihar. But Lalu Prasad has to show that he is a Yadav leader, hence he fields more Yadav candidates so that at least the candidates get votes in the name of caste. Sanjay Yadav from Godda, Subhash Yadav from Koderma and Sanjay Singh Yadav from Hussainabad have got tickets. Lalu Prasad had earlier contested Subhash Yadav from Chatra Lok Sabha also. They are sand traders and action by central agencies is also going on against them.
