Washington. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a message to China without naming it in the meeting of the four-nation group Quad and said that Quad is not against anyone. However, along with this, the Prime Minister also made it clear that Quad will remain, it will not end. Modi, who reached Delaware in America to participate in the Quad conference, talked about a rule-based international system and said that everyone will have to move together.
Earlier, on the first day of his US visit, Prime Minister Modi reached President Biden’s home state Delaware on Saturday, September 21. There, he attended the Quad conference with US President Joe Biden, Australian PM Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at 1.30 am Indian time. After the meeting, in the photoshoot of Quad leaders, Biden was asked a question about the existence of Quad after the US elections. On this, Biden put his hand on Prime Minister Modi’s shoulder and said that Quad will remain even after the elections.
During the conference, Prime Minister Modi said- This meeting is taking place at a time when the world is surrounded by conflicts. In such a situation, it is important for the Quad to move together. He said- We are not against anyone. We support a rule-based international order, territorial integrity and peaceful resolution of all issues. The Quad meeting was held at President Biden’s high school in Delaware. During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi said without naming China- We are not against anyone. An independent and inclusive Indo Pacific is our priority. The Quad is for partnership and cooperation and this organization will remain for a long time.
After this, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese addressed the Quad members. He said- Next year Prime Minister Modi will host the Quad Summit. I am waiting for that moment. The history of Quad is not long, that is, it is not bound by traditions. The region we represent is the fastest growing region. Biden said in the meeting- We are democratic countries that know how to get the job done. At the beginning of my tenure, I approached you to make the Quad more effective. Today, after four years, we are more united strategically than ever before.
After this, Biden announced to increase cooperation between the coast guards of the Quad countries. He said that from now on students from South East Asian countries will also be included in the fellowships given by the Quad.
