Modi congratulated Trump, Putin did not

New Delhi. After winning the US Presidential election, Donald Trump is receiving congratulatory messages from all over the world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated him on his victory but Russian President Vladimir Putin did not congratulate him till late night. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is facing Russia’s attack, has congratulated Trump. Chinese President Xi Jinping also did not congratulate. Many leaders including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer have congratulated him.

Prime Minister Modi said in his congratulatory message – Hearty congratulations to my friend Donald Trump on this historic victory. Let us work together to promote a better future for our people and peace, stability and prosperity in the world. Instead of congratulating, Russian spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said – President Putin has no intention of congratulating Trump. America can play an important role in ending the Ukraine war.

China’s spokesperson Mou Ning said- Our policy towards America has always been the same. We will continue to advance China-America relations on the basis of mutual peace and respect. Describing Trump’s victory as historic, Netanyahu said – Trump has made a great comeback, it is historic. Your return to the White House marks another beginning for America. The relationship between Israel and America will remain like this.
