Bhopal. Voting is going on for the by-elections being held in two assembly constituencies of Madhya Pradesh. With the passage of time, the pace of voting is also increasing and in the first four hours more than 37 percent voters exercised their franchise. By-elections are being held in two assembly constituencies of the state, Vijaypur and Budhni. Two days before the voting, an incident of firing came to light in Vijaypur and after that tight security arrangements were made. Voting is going on amid heavy security arrangements. Voting started at 7 am and by 11 am, more than 37 percent voters had voted in both the Assembly Areas. Talking about Vijaypur, 38.26 percent voters exercised their franchise here, whereas in Budhni, 36 percent voters voted. It is known that the by-election is being held in Budhni due to former BJP MLA Shivraj Singh Chauhan being elected MP from Vidisha parliamentary constituency, while in Vijaypur, former Congress MLA Ramniwas Rawat has joined BJP. The reason for this by-election is that in Budhni, BJP has fielded Ramakant Bhargava and his opponent is Rajkumar Patel of Congress, while in Vijaypur, Ramnivas Rawat is in the fray and he is facing Congress’s Mukesh Malhotra.
There were incidents of firing at some places two days before voting. Two people have been injured in this. A round of allegations and counter-allegations is going on from political parties regarding this incident. Voting is taking place on Wednesday and enthusiasm is visible among the voters. Voting started at 7 am on Wednesday. A total of 5 lakh 31 thousand 616 voters will exercise their franchise in the by-elections in both the assembly constituencies. The voting process started at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm. 327 polling stations have been set up for the by-election in Vijaypur. Two lakh 54 thousand 817 voters will take part in the voting process. There are 2 lakh 54 thousand 714 general voters in this, out of which male voters are 1 lakh 33 thousand 581. The number of women voters is one lakh 21 thousand 131. There are 103 service voters. Whereas 363 polling stations have been made in Budhni Assembly. There are 2 lakh 76 thousand 604 general voters, out of which 1 lakh 43 thousand 197 are male voters. The number of women voters is one lakh 33 thousand 401. The number of service voters is 195.
