Gaza. The death toll of Palestinians in the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has exceeded 43,000. And 101,110 people have been injured due to these attacks. Over the past 48 hours, 96 people were killed and 277 others were injured in Israeli military strikes, health officials said in a statement on Monday. Many victims were still under the debris and ambulances and civil defense teams could not reach them, the statement said. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Monday that its troops continued targeted raids in Gaza. Earlier, the IDF claimed to have captured about 100 militants during an operation at Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabaliya, Gaza. The IDF said the operation was carried out following intelligence indicating that ‘terrorists had holed themselves up inside the hospital.’ According to the IDF, the aim of the raid was to ‘disrupt terrorist activities and capture terrorists’.
Meanwhile, hospital director Husam Abu Safia issued an alert on X to protect the hospital and its patients and staff from further Israeli attacks. He said 31 hospital employees were either captured or arrested. Hamas attacked Israel on October 7 last year. About 1200 people were killed in the attack while more than 250 people were taken hostage. Since then, Israel has been attacking the Gaza Strip controlled by Hamas. Israeli attacks have devastated Gaza. Recently, UN official Philip Lazzarini, citing a latest UN study on social media platform X, said that the war has devastated the Palestinian economy. Almost the entire population of Gaza lives in poverty, with sectors such as health and education set back 70 years.
