It is a proud moment for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that the title which had slipped from his hands on the day of Diwali has been regained. On the day of Diwali, Punjab, ruled by his party, had defeated Delhi. Ambala in Haryana was the first and Amritsar in Punjab was the second most polluted city. Delhi had slipped to third place. But Kejriwal can be happy that Delhi has regained its first position. Delhi is now the most polluted city in the country. This data has also come that while passing through Delhi, 33 kilometer stretch of Yamuna river has become almost completely dead.
However, according to the latest data for the month of October, the 10 most polluted cities of the country are now in the National Capital and National Capital Region. For this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his party can also be proud. Apart from Delhi, among the 10 most polluted cities of the country, three cities are from Haryana and the remaining six cities are from Uttar Pradesh. Gurgaon, Charkhi Dadri and Bahadurgarh are among the most polluted cities in Haryana. Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida, Meerut, Hapur and Muzaffarnagar are among the most polluted cities of Uttar Pradesh. This is the situation when, as per the order of the court, the first phase of Graded Response Action Plan i.e. GRAP was implemented in Delhi and NCR on October 15 itself. The figures for November could be even more frightening.
