New Delhi. After Medicine, Physics and Chemistry, this year’s Nobel Prize for Literature has also been announced. This year Han Kang of South Korea has received this award. He has received this honor for presenting poignant stories of life in a beautiful style. Han Kang started his career in 1993 with writing poems. He started writing stories in 1995. Han Kang is the 18th and first Korean woman to win a Nobel Prize.
Earlier, he had also won the Man Booker International Prize for the novel ‘The Vegetarian’ in 2016. This novel gave him international recognition. The Nobel Committee has specifically discussed a novel ‘Greek Lesson’ by Han Kang. This is the story of a girl who has lost her voice due to the hardships in her life. He meets a Greek teacher who is losing his eyesight. This novel beautifully describes the relationship that flourishes between two human beings despite the barriers to communication.
Last year i.e. in 2023, the Nobel Prize for Literature was given to Norwegian writer John Fosse. He was given this award for his plays and stories. Through plays and stories, he has given voice to those who were not able to express their views.
