Jammu. BJP leader and former Union Minister Smriti Irani addressed the media in Jammu on Thursday. During this, Irani reacted to Omar Abdullah’s changing stance on forming the government. Smriti Irani said that after sensing the mood of the people, Omar Abdullah is now saying that his party National Conference (NC) can form the government by allying with the Congress. Earlier, Abdullah had claimed that the National Conference will get a majority and he will form the government on his own in Jammu and Kashmir. She said that the BJP has said from day one that “we will form the government in Jammu and Kashmir on our own. Whereas Omar Abdullah has changed his stance from his earlier statement, ‘National Conference will form the government in Jammu and Kashmir on its own’. In response to a question, Smriti Irani said that now he is saying that NC will form the government by allying with the Congress. Has he now realized his defeat? She said that the BJP has said in Parliament and in the Supreme Court through the Solicitor General that “we will restore the state status”.
Further, Congress says that they will start a movement to get statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Only the BJP government at the Center can restore statehood, not Congress. On the issue of restoring statehood, Congress’s stand is of agitation while our stand is of restoration. The former Union Minister said that after the removal of Article 370, an investment of Rs 84 thousand crore has come in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that after the removal of Article 370, three lakh youth in Jammu and Kashmir have been given financial assistance of Rs 8 thousand crore. One percent reservation has been given to women through the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act. Seven lakh women of self-help groups have become Lakhpati Didi in Jammu and Kashmir. We have promised that if the government is formed in Jammu and Kashmir, the oldest woman in every house will be given Rs 18 thousand. Under the Ujjwala Yojana, 1 lakh 17 thousand families have been brought under this scheme. In our manifesto, we have promised to give two LPG cylinders free to poor families.
He said that we have promised to provide five lakh new jobs under the Pandit Premnath Dogra Employment Scheme in the Sankalp Patra. Youth preparing for UPSC and JKPSC exams will be given Rs 10,000 for coaching. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the leader of digitalization in India. Children of higher secondary schools in remote areas will be given laptops and tablets to get online education. Jammu will become an IT hub under the Special Economic Zone Scheme. Three regional development boards will be formed. The BJP leader took a dig at the Congress and said that their policy is to divide. This is the party which has been led in the past by people who were not born in India. Isn’t it unfortunate? I appeal to the people to vote for the BJP for a new dawn of development and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.
