New Delhi. Opposition MPs included in the Joint Parliamentary Committee or JPC, which is considering the Waqf Board Bill, have met Speaker Om Birla. Opposition MPs have complained to JPC chairperson BJP MP Jagdambika Pal. He accused Jagdambika Pal of taking unilateral decisions without taking the opinion of the opposition. Opposition MPs have also warned of leaving the JPC.

For this, the opposition leaders also wrote a joint letter to Birla, in which the MPs had warned of separation from the committee. In this letter written to Om Birla, the MPs have also accused the JPC Chairman of taking unilateral decisions.
In the letter, the opposition MPs have complained to the Speaker that Jagdambika Pal sometimes fixes the dates of meetings for three consecutive days and is also taking the decision to call witnesses unilaterally. Opposition MPs say that it is not possible for them to hold proper talks without preparation. On the other hand, BJP MPs have alleged that the opposition members are deliberately obstructing the work of the committee.
