Paris Paralympics: Hokato Hotoze won a medal, PM Modi congratulated him

New Delhi. The stellar performance of Indian players continues at the Paris Paralympics 2024. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated Hokato Hotoze Sema on winning the bronze medal and praised his determination towards the sport. Hokato won the bronze medal for India with a throw of 14.65 meters in the final of the men’s shot put F57 event on Saturday, which was his personal best performance. The Prime Minister expressed pride in the Paralympian’s achievement on the social media platform ‘X’ account, calling it a ‘moment of pride’ for the country. PM Modi wrote in the post, “This is a proud moment for our country. Hokato has won the bronze medal in the men’s shot put F57! His incredible strength and determination are extraordinary. Congratulations to him. Best wishes for further endeavors.

Home Minister Amit Shah also congratulated the Paralympian, praising his achievement. The Home Minister wrote on his ‘X’ account, “Hokato Sema has achieved a great feat by winning the bronze medal in the men’s shot put F57 event at the Paralympics 2024. Your unwavering effort and brilliant performance have made the country proud. In this event, Yashin Khosravi of Iran won the gold medal with a throw of 15.96 meters, while Thiago Paulino dos Santos of Brazil won the silver medal with a throw of 15.06 meters. India’s total medal tally now stands at 27, including 6 gold medals, 9 silver medals and 12 bronze medals. This achievement marks India’s best ever performance at the Paralympics, surpassing the five gold medals won at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
