New Delhi. 10 days after the agreement between India and China on the friction points in eastern Ladakh, troops of both the countries have withdrawn from the disputed areas and patrolling has started in Depsang plain and Demchok. The Foreign Ministry confirmed this on Saturday. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on Saturday that as per the terms and conditions agreed between the two countries, verification patrolling has started in Depsang and Demchok.

It is noteworthy that a day before this on Friday, Indian Army sources had said that the armies of both the countries have started patrolling.

Earlier, Army sources had said on Wednesday, October 30 that the withdrawal of troops from the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh, two standoff points on the LAC, Demchok and Depsang, has been completed and patrolling will start at these places soon. . After this, on Thursday, October 31, on the occasion of Diwali, sweets were exchanged between the two sides at several border points on the LAC. Patrolling started a day later. According to the agreement between the two countries, the situation of April 2020 will be restored by gradually reducing the tension.
