New Delhi. The counting of votes for the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana will take place on Tuesday, but before that, a war of words has started between all the parties and leaders in both the states. In both the states, both Congress and BJP are claiming to form the government, while in Haryana, the rhetoric for the post of Chief Minister has also intensified between the leaders of both the parties. According to exit poll data, Congress is expected to form a government with full majority in Haryana, while Congress and National Conference alliance is leading in Jammu and Kashmir also. But BJP leaders are saying that the exit poll estimates will be wrong.
Bharatiya Janata Party has claimed to form the government in Haryana for the third time. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has said that BJP will get majority again. There is said to be a close contest on 19 seats in the state, which Chief Minister Saini has claimed to win. It is worth noting that in the report sent by the State Congress to the Congress high command regarding the elections, the report for these 19 seats has also been sent separately. A day before the results, senior BJP leader Anil Vij has once again claimed the post of Chief Minister. He has said that Congress will know the reality on Tuesday.
Before the results, both BJP and Congress have started efforts to woo potential independent MLAs to their side. There is news of BJP contacting the country’s richest woman Savitri Jindal, who contested the elections as an independent candidate from Hisar. Congress leaders have contacted Chitra Sarwara, who contested the elections as an independent candidate from a seat in Ambala. Chitra’s father has contested elections on Congress ticket.
Meanwhile, the claim for the post of Chief Minister in Congress has intensified. Former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda has said that he is neither tired nor retired. In this way, when he has staked claim for the post of CM, Kumari Selja has said that the party high command knows everything and it has to decide who will be the CM. He also said that the credit for the strength of Congress goes to Rahul Gandhi. Earlier, Deependra Hooda had said that Hooda Saheb has contributed to the strength of Congress. Meanwhile, Hooda’s family reached Baglamukhi temple on Monday to worship.
On the other hand, suspense has also increased in Jammu and Kashmir. A PDP leader had said that his party is ready to coordinate with Congress and National Conference but PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti’s daughter Iltija Mufti has said that the decision on alliance will be taken after the election results. It is believed that PDP can play the role of kingmaker in Jammu and Kashmir. Without him no government will be formed. It is noteworthy that voting for 90 seats of Jammu and Kashmir was held in three phases on 18th, 25th September and 1st October. Total voting was around 63 percent. Voting for all 90 seats of Haryana was held in a single phase on October 5. Nearly 67 percent votes were cast in the state. The results of both the states will come on October 8.
