empty foundation: Prajna Foundation’s ‘Project Kishori’ in Jaipur has launched a strong campaign to spread awareness on hygiene and menstrual issues among adolescent girls. Run in collaboration with BrahMos Aerospace, the project aims to make adolescent girls understand the importance of maintaining hygiene during menstruation, as well as motivate them to become self-reliant. The campaign was launched by Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari on August 17, and so far the initiative has been successfully implemented in several schools in Jaipur.

Distribution of Kishori Kits in schools and formation of clubs

Under this campaign, Kishori clubs were formed in various schools of Jaipur on 25 September and hygiene kits were distributed among the girl students. In a program organized at PM Shri Government Higher Secondary School located in Gangauri Bazaar, Kishori kits were provided to 55 girl students. During this, Principal Dr. Jayshree Bhargava, teacher Chandrakanta Pareek and Poonam Joshi made the students aware of the importance of menstrual hygiene.
Similarly, a program was organized under Project Kishori in Mahatma Gandhi English Medium Higher Secondary School, Police Academy. Here, in the presence of Principal Nandita Goswami, Geeta Arora and Sarita Soni, Kishori kits were given to the girl students and clubs were formed. In this program, cleanliness and self-reliance were discussed in depth. (Prazna Foundation)

This program was also organized for the girl students in the Government Higher Secondary School located in Rakdi with the help of Principal Manju Maan, teachers Saroj Sharma and Mamta. At the same time, kits were distributed among the girl students in the school located in Praveen Nagar Jagannathpura and Government Higher Secondary School under the supervision of Principal Nisha Meena and Principal Shrilal Meena and they were made aware about menstrual hygiene.

Objective and future plan of Project Kishori (Prazna Foundation)

Prajna Foundation spokesperson Vishishta Singh said that the aim of this campaign is to spread awareness about hygiene among adolescent girls as well as to inspire them to become self-reliant during menstruation. She said that this program will continue on behalf of Brahmos Aerospace and Prajna Foundation and it will be expanded to other areas as well.

‘Project Kishori’ has so far reached hundreds of girl students in various schools of Jaipur, and this campaign will continue on a larger scale in the future. Through this initiative, adolescent girls are not only being provided with the necessary means to stay physically healthy, but they are also being inspired to break the myths related to hygiene and menstruation in the society.

In this way, ‘Project Kishori’ is playing an important role in bringing positive change in the lives of adolescent girls, and even more effective results will be seen in the times to come.
