Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the definition of health in Ayurveda is ‘Swasthya Swathyam Laghurakhshanam, Aturasya Vikar Prashamanam’ i.e. the purpose of Ayurveda is to protect the health of a healthy person and to cure the disease of the patient. Ayurveda Day is celebrated today in the memory of the father of Ayurveda, its theme is ‘Ayurveda Innovation for Global Health’. He said that a radical change has been seen in every field of health in UP. Today medical colleges are being built in every district. From 1947 to 2017, only 17 medical colleges were built in UP, today medical colleges have been built or are being built in 64 districts of UP. A new policy has been formulated for 11 districts. Under this, the program of construction of medical college is being increased on war footing. Today UP has two AIIMS.
AIIMS Delhi has been requested to provide land and build a satellite center in Ghaziabad, so that the people of Hapur, Meerut, Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr can avail the benefits of the facilities of Delhi AIIMS. Under the Ujjwala scheme, cylinders have been given to 1.86 crore families. The state government is providing cylinders free of cost during Diwali and Holi. Today a 12-lane expressway has been built between Delhi and Meerut. Now this distance is covered in just 45 minutes. Rapid Rail has connected Meerut and Delhi, through which the distance to Delhi is covered in just 40 minutes. Ganga Expressway is connecting Meerut to Prayagraj. After the construction of the expressway, this distance will be covered in just six to seven hours and in the 2025 Prayagraj Kumbh, the people of Western UP will get the opportunity to attain the virtue of bathing in the Triveni of Sangam.
He said that the government has taken steps towards making Meerut a hub of sports items in the field of ODOP. Meerut is fulfilling the need of not only the country but also the world in sports items.
