Kolhapur. Before the announcement of assembly elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is busy setting the election narrative of Maharashtra. On Saturday, he unveiled a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and now on Monday, he shared a video of him cooking and eating with a Dalit family in Kolhapur. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi shared a video of cooking at the house of a Dalit family in Kolhapur on social media platform X on Monday.
He wrote- Even today very few people know about Dalit kitchen. In the video, Rahul Gandhi is saying – Ajay Tukaram Sanade called me to his house in Kolhapur, Maharashtra and gave me a chance to help in the kitchen. Together we made Harbhyachi bhaji. It is also called gram greens vegetable. Also prepared brinjal curry and toor dal. No one knows what Dalits eat and how they cook it. We talked about its social and political importance. Rahul further wrote – While talking about discrimination and Sanade’s personal experiences, we discussed the lack of awareness about Dalit food and the importance of documentation of this culture.
Sanade and Rahul Gandhi also discussed about inflation. Sanade said- Garlic has become very expensive. Someone is saying eat millets, eat millets. Due to their saying eat, our millets have become expensive, which was very cheap earlier. It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi continuously talks about eating millets these days. However, Sanade said- I never voted for Congress. Did not vote for Congress till 4 elections, because our belt belonged to agricultural workers. We also never vote for BJP. Will never give it to them, but now Shetkari Party has ended, that is why I also came to your Bharat Jodo Yatra.
