Wayanad. Congress leader and former Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi arrived on Sunday to campaign for his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. While campaigning for Priyanka, who is contesting the by-election on the Wayanad seat vacated by Rahul’s resignation, Rahul said – I have come for the first time to campaign for my sister, till now she used to campaign for me. When I was an MP here, I could not become your sister, daughter or mother. But now my sister will play all these three roles.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, while targeting the Modi government at the Center in the election rally on Sunday, said – Modi ji’s aim is not to give you a better life, new jobs, better health or education. They just want to remain in power by any means. It is noteworthy that in the Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi had won from Wayanad and Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh. He had chosen Rae Bareli, the traditional seat of the Gandhi family. In Wayanad, Priyanka is contesting against BJP’s Navya Haridas and Left Front candidate Satyan Mokeri.
However, Rahul attacked the central government in the election rally on Sunday and stated the need to save the Constitution and said – the Constitution was not written out of anger or hatred. It was written by people who fought the British, people who suffered, who spent years and years in jail and they wrote the Constitution with humility, love and affection. Rahul said- This is a fight between confidence and insecurity. And if you really want to win this battle, you must help yourself by removing anger and hatred from your heart and replacing it with love, humility and compassion.
