Relations with China are stable, not normal - Army Chief

New Delhi. Even after more than four years have passed since the incident in Galwan Valley, relations between India and China have not normalized. Despite several rounds of talks between military commanders, the situation remains the same. Giving information about this on Tuesday, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi said that India’s situation with China is stable, but it is not normal, it is quite sensitive. He said- We have to fight, cooperate, live together, confront and challenge China. Relations with China are very complicated.

Army Chief said- We want the situation with China to become like before April 2020. Be it the matter of possession of land or creation of buffer zone. Until the situation is restored like before, the situation will remain sensitive and we are fully prepared to deal with any situation. He said- The biggest loss has been to our faith. There have been 17 commander level meetings between India and China since April. We have discussed many issues in these meetings. Now when there are difficult situations on both sides, we have to find a way in which both will benefit.

Earlier, during a conference in Geneva, Switzerland on September 12, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar had said that 75 percent of the dispute with China has been resolved. The Foreign Minister also said that the issue of increasing militarization on the border is still serious. However, at an event in New York on September 25, he clarified his statement that 75 percent of the disputes would be resolved. He said- I had said this only in the context of retreat of the troops. Challenges still remain on other issues with China. He also said that India’s history with China has been full of difficulties.
