Bhopal. The reputation of the senior leaders here is linked to the by-elections being held in two assembly constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. The reason for this is because these powerful leaders have had influence on the assembly area for years. By-elections are being held in Budhni of Sehore district of the state and Vijaypur of Sheopur. In Budhni, BJP’s Ramakant Bhargava is facing Congress’s Rajkumar Patel, while in Vijaypur, Congress’s Mukesh Mehrotra is facing BJP’s Ramniwas Rawat. Voting is going to be held in both these assembly constituencies on Wednesday 13 November. Present Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan was elected from Budhni in the assembly elections held last year, who is now MP from Vidisha. Similarly, BJP’s Morena MP Narendra Singh Tomar is now an MLA. Vidisha parliamentary constituency is considered to be the area of influence of Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. He has represented Budhni assembly constituency and Vidisha parliamentary constituency several times. By-election is being held from Budhni due to Chauhan’s resignation. Kartikeya Singh Chauhan, son of Shivraj Singh Chauhan, was completely in charge of the election campaign of BJP candidate Ramakant Bhargava.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan also came to this area and held public meetings, road shows and even held meetings in support of the BJP candidate. Similarly, in Vijaypur Assembly constituency, Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar put full emphasis on this. Tomar has previously been an MP from Morena and also a Union Minister in the Modi government. Tomar is now the MLA from this area and has left no stone unturned in the election campaign. Gwalior Chambal area is also considered to be the area of influence of Jyotiraditya Scindia but he did not show much activity in the by-elections. Political analysts believe that by-elections are easier for the ruling party, but due to caste mathematics, the elections at both Budhni and Vijaypur are interesting. These areas are under the influence of influential BJP leaders, hence their reputation is also linked to it. This is the reason why Shivraj Singh Chauhan in Budhni and Narendra Singh Tomar in Vijaypur have left no stone unturned in sharpening their campaign.
