St. John’s (Antigua). West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell has been ruled out of the remaining three T20 matches against England. He suffered a left ankle injury during the first match. Due to this injury in the first match, Russell could not play the second match, in which West Indies suffered a defeat by 7 wickets, leaving them 0–2 in the series. In place of Russell, Shamar Springer has been included in the team, who has recently played two T20 matches against Sri Lanka. Along with this, Alzarri Joseph is returning to the team after his two-match ban. He will join the team in St Lucia for the final crucial leg and will replace Shamar Joseph. Alzarri was banned for two matches by West Indies Cricket for leaving the field without permission in the third ODI against England, reducing the West Indies squad by one player.
The remaining matches of the series will be held in St. Lucia, with the third match being played on Thursday. West Indies will have to win the third T20 match to be held on Thursday to stay in the series. It is noteworthy that the England team is currently on the Caribbean tour where they have played a three-match ODI series. The host West Indies won this series 2-1. Now a five-match T20 series is being played between the two teams. Like the third match of the series, the fourth and fifth matches will also be held in St. Lucia. The fourth and fifth T20 matches will be held on 16 and 17 November respectively.
